Alljoy Neighborhood Community Updates

Beaufort County Animal Services needs your help to track coyote and nuisance animal activity. Beaufort County is gathering data on sighting locations, animal behavior, and timeframes. We will be coordinating with South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and other wildlife management groups to coordinate the best response. This page is not monitored 24/7, if you are experiencing an emergency please call 911.

Coyote and Nuisance Animal Sightings

On March 7th, 2024 Beaufort County staff applied for South Carolina RIA Infrastructure Planning grant funds to perform a stormwater drainage infrastructure study for an area in southern Beaufort County referred to as Alljoy.The RIA funds for Alljoy will be used to perform a comprehensive drainage study of stormwater drainage infrastructure in the Alljoy area. This study will be used to provide information on existing flooding conditions and provide solutions for the County to implement drainage improvements or retrofits to the stormwater infrastructure system.

Beaufort County&#39;s Capital Projects Department has begun work on repairs to the pedestrian bridge and the addition of a new fishing pier on the Spanish Moss Trail on Battery Creek near the Technical College of the Lowcountry.

In 2018, Beaufort County Council passed an ordinance that was intended to limit the number of plastic bags that end up in our fragile environment. The County is considering revisiting the ordinance to ensure that it is having the intended effect and is being fairly implemented.Counties, municipalities, and countries around the world are at a pivotal point in the battle against plastic pollution. Global production and use of plastics has outpaced population growth, and 8 million pieces of plastic pollution make their way into the ocean every day. Beaufort County aims to create healthier, safer, and livable communities through the reduction of environmental pollutants.
